Stills from The Million Dollar Mystery (and full page ad) with Florence La Badie, Kalem's In Wolf's Clothing with Alice Joyce, American's Feast and Famine with Vivian Rich. Features on producer Jesse L Lasky, producer Sigmund Lubin, actor Richard C Travers of Essany, actress Kathlyn Williams, actor Hobart Bosworth, outlaw Al Jennings (who played himself in the biopic of his exploits. Reviews of Cabiria, one of the first 'epics', the first color full-length feature The World, the Flesh and the Devil and DW Griffith's The Escape. Plus "West Coast Studio Jottings" (reminding us that there were still East Coast Studios in 1914) and "Eastern Studio News" and "Answers to Questions about Plays and Players" - meaning photoplays of course. The "Players Birthday Calendar" lists between 6 and 12 stars for each day, suggesting that there were already some 3,000 people famous enough in movies for their birthdays to be worthy of note. And this only three years after the studios had first started releasing names of their hitherto anonymous players!
